KNOWING CHRIST

LIVING HIS LOVE

MAKING HIM KNOWN

Knowing Christ

Ps 34:8 Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
King David

John 17: 3 Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
Jesus Christ

Phil 3:10 I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, 11 and so, somehow, to attain to the resurrection from the dead.  12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me.
Paul the Apostle

The overriding theme of scripture is knowing God, in and through the person of Jesus Christ.  That knowing is an experience in our hearts, a renewing of our minds, and a transformation of our lives.  Simply put – Knowing Him and in knowing to genuinely become like Him lies at the core of all that we are building at WorldView.

Because of Jesus Christ’s death on a cross we are able to find the mercy that allows us to draw near and to know Him.  Because of His death-conquering resurrection and His indwelling Holy Spirit we find the power to live new lives that our being transformed into His likeness.

Through worship centered on Him, and life-changing biblical teaching that helps us to become like Christ in every aspect of our lives – we build with the simple goal of Knowing Christ.

Living His Love

John 13:34 "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. 35 By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."
Jesus Christ

Eph 2:22 …in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.
Paul the Apostle

1 John 4:12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
John the Apostle

Becoming like Christ is ultimately about learning to live, love and serve in the midst of a Christ-filled, Spirit-empowered community.  It isn’t a love filled with simple sentimentality, it’s a love that builds up, encourages, strengthens, and when need be speaks truths that aren’t always easy to hear.  This kind of love, lived in the power of God’s Spirit, is a love that changes us into people becoming more and more like Christ.

That kind of love is lived out in a primary way in smaller groupings (we call them LifeGroups) within the context of WorldView Community Church.  These smaller groups study God’s Word together, mutually bring God’s care to each other, and work to build each other up to become mature in Christ.

It’s also lived out as each of us recognizes our gifts and abilities and use these for meaningfully serving each other.

We believe that as we seek to Know Christ and out of that knowledge learn to Live His Love, that we can be transformed by God’s Spirit from within.

Making Him Known

Matt 5:14 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Jesus Christ

Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of this Good News about Christ. It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes…
Paul the Apostle

As transformed individuals and as a collective community of believers, we give ourselves to Making Him Known.  We believe that this most powerfully happens individually as we live lives that honestly acknowledge who we are yet to become and the reality of Christ taking us there.  We believe that this most powerfully happens as a collective community of believers as we humbly live His love, all the time welcoming those desiring to know more about this Jesus we love and serve.
